Test Preparation

1. IELTS
The International English Language Testing System is a test of English as a Foreign Language that measures students’ proficiency in four areas of English language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. A band score of 0-9 is given for each individual section.
There are two kinds of IELTS Test Preparation Courses: the Academic Training Course and the General Training Course. The Academic Training Course is for candidates who wish to pursue their higher education overseas, whereas the General Training Course is for immigration and training requirements abroad.

2. TOEFL
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) measures the ability of nonnative speakers of English to use and understand North American English as it is used in college and university settings. Scores on the test are required by more than 4,300 two- and four-year colleges and universities, professional schools, and sponsoring institutions.

The test is offered on computer throughout most regions of the world. In areas where access to computer-based testing is limited, a supplemental paper-and-pencil version of the test is administered.

3. GMAT
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is used by many graduate schools of business and management as a criterion in considering application for admission to the school’s graduate programs. The GMAT measures verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills of students. The GMAT is a four-hour computer-adaptive test.

4. SAT
The SAT is an entry and scholarship criterion into most of the best and highly-ranked schools in the United States. It is a test of Mathematical and Verbal reasoning. High scores on the SAT qualify students to gain entry into the best schools and to compete for merit -based scholarships. The SAT is scored on a scale of 200-800 (for math, reading and writing) amounting to a maximum total score of 2400.

The SAT is typically taken by high school juniors and seniors in the United States and is offered several times a year. One component of the test is an essay, which is graded by two examiners and is scored on a scale of 1-6 (low to high).

5.GRE
GRE stands for the Graduate Records Examination; it is a multiple-choice and standardized test given by the Educational Testing Service. Colleges and Universities use the results of the GRE to help them decide which students to accept to their graduate programs. Therefore it is similar to the well-known SAT test except that the GRE is used for acceptance to graduate instead of undergraduate.
